Two more framed prints of Hassan el Yashmid's paintings titled On The Tigris Nr. Kurna and On The Nile Nr. Kantara have surfaced in Cardiff. They are in good condition with good frames and title plates. Interesting to note that these Yashmid prints always appear in the same pairs. This pair is quite uncommon.

It seems that there is a movement among auction houses to increase the estimates for works of art at this time. Has anyone else found this to be the case? Is this move in anticipation of a growth in the economy in the near future? Comments welcome.

Another Giovanni Barbaro watercolour entitled Egyptian Street Scene, 280mm x 380mm, c1900, was sold at auction Saturday 5/10/13 at Rosebery's London. Achieved the lower end of the estimate (£60.- net). Was quite heavily foxed and creased in places with broken glass according auctioneer's condition report. Would be interested to hear from the buyer regarding the actual condition if they read this post.
