Condition/Notes : Good. DJ : Quite good. The red tooled front board is quite good with light wear to the edges and a toning line along the top edge where DJ has positioned short of the board. Ex Libris white logo stamped towards the lower middle. There is a slight vertical bow to the front board. The back board is similar without the bow. The spine has wear to top and tail and a 15mm tear from the top rh corner down the rh edge. The title and author are in white ink. The DJ Has medium wear to the edges with a 40mm tear along the rh edge and tears to the corners. The back DJ face has some staining, light wear to edges and a 10mm tear to the top lh corner. DJ spine has wear to top and tail with small tears in places. The colours are good. Front fold has summary of novel and price 12s 6d net in lower rh corner. The back fold has details of 4 other novels by Hammond Innes. The front paste-down and e/p are blank off-white. pp follows with summary of the novel, list of other novels verso. Title page facing and printing details verso. Dedication and Contents follow (Parts 1,2 and 3). The pages are generally clean and undamaged. Binding tight and fully intact. A good edition of this classic maritime novel.
