Condition/Notes : Fair. The front dark green linen board is worn to edges and bumped/worn to corners. Marking to face. Gilt emblem on South Africa in lower rh corner. Back board similar with 120mm tear down from top rh corner along spine edge showing cotton bind. Spine sunned to brownish green, gilt lettering. Wear to top and tail and edges with some fraying. Blank front paste-down and e/p with previous owner's name stamp top lh edge. Foxing to e/p. Title page with full details and illustration. Contents follow; List of Illustrations. Note that first illustration (Frontispiece) is missing - all others intact and good condition with good colours. Most pages good and clean but some light marking and foxing in places. 5mm gap between back board and back e/p revealing cotton bind but intact. Binding quite tight and fully intact except missing frontispiece as noted above. A very good historical volume and quite scarce with good coloured illustrations.
