Harvesting, oil on board, signed indistictly lower rh corner. Framed.
Dimensions : Frame : 375mm x 323mm x 22mm. Image : 290mm x 244mm.
Condition/Notes : Very good condition. The oil on board painting depicts farmers harvesting the wheat crop in pre-mechanisation days with the thresher hauled by two horses. The farmer's dog is looking out of the painting from within the sheaves. The painting captures the motion of the harvester on an English summer's day and brings back memories of those halcyon days when farms were the backbone of the country. The artist's signature is written indistinctly in the lower rh corner and is partly obscured by the inner edge of the frame but appears to be O. Rinott or Rinett. The colours are good and there is no damage to the support or painting. The frame is in good condition with very little wear. The cardboard backing board is secured with arrow points and sealed with self-adhesive framing tape. Rings and cord attached. Ready to hang. Overall, a very pleasant oil painting.
