Condition/Notes : The painting is in very good condition with good colour and no damage. The scene depicts Belvoir Castle on the hill as viewed from the Vale of Belvoir between Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire with a typical farmhouse in the foreground and a spectacular tree which dominates this autumnal scene. The work is fairly typical of the artist with much detail and the isolated vista lying beneath the spectacular sky. The painting is signed in the artist's usual manner in the lower rh corner and the work is displayed within a fabric and gilt lined  wooden frame. The frame is lightly painted cream colour and is in good condition but with some scuffing to the edges in places. The backing board is nailed in position and sealed with gummed framing tape. The remnants of a label are attached in the top rh corner and handscript below states "Vale of Belvoir" Oil with the artist's name and address in Newark Notts. A gallery style hanging device is attached at top centre and screw-eyes and wire also attached. The frame is heavy and international buyers may consider shipping the painting unframed - please contact me for shipping options.
