Condition/Notes : Quite good. The watercolour on Whatman's board study of Newlyn Harbour is in quite good condition but there is a degree of colour fading - the images below accurately portray the actual colours of the painting. There is also light foxing in places especially the sky and below the figures but some of this appears to be shadows from marking on the inside of the glazing. The painting is an interesting early work unsigned but attributed to Thomas Herbert Victor who specialized in studies of Cornish coastal towns and villages. This scene can be found in other studies signed T.H. Victor or W. Sands. The Whatman's water colour sketching board base has been glazed and secured by black tape and a hanging ring attached as can be seen in the images below. The painting will benefit from framing with conservation materials. Please view the images below :
