Condition/Notes : Quite good. The oil on board study is in quite good condition with good colour and no damage. There are a few very small spots of paint loss in places and a few small areas in the sky where the variation in the grain of the panel has left small vertical marks where the paint has not penetrated to the same depth as surrounding areas or where surface grime has built up in the furrows. The painting has been very lightly varnished. There is light craqueleur throughout. The painting is displayed within the original rustic moulded oak frame which has wear and scuffing to the edges and is secured by three old nails and a more recent addition to the mid-lower edge. The oak panel has marking and scratching but no script or labels attached. Old brass rings and wire attached.   An interesting 19th Century Continental School work, unfortunately unsigned.
