Condition/Notes : Good. Front board has wear to edges, wear to corners, small tears to edges of title sheet, general light wear and marking to face. (See images below). Back board similar with list of The Organ Works of J.S. Bach by Novello, dated lower lh corner 21(1957). Spine with mottled leather finish and external stitching; wear to corners. Front paste-down blank off-white; facing e/p blank with browning to edges and faded ink handscript top rh corner G.R. Marsh, Christmas 1960. Verso blank. pp follows blank. Title page follows with full details (see images below) and price marked 6s.0d; verso Publisher's Preface detailing Novello publications history and refers to the design on front cover which is Bach's seal incorporating his initials. Book I Editor's Preface follows dated May 1952. Verso, numbered p2, commences Eight Short Preludes and Fugues BWV553. Every other page is marked lower margin 17575 Copyright, 1952, by Novello & Company. Limited (p2 including Made in England lower rh corner) and on to p25 which has Novello & Company Ltd., Engravers & Printers lower lh margin; verso blank with Novello emblem in centre. Blank e/p's follow with vertical creasing to the second sheet and browning to edges of both. Blank p/d to inside of cover with browning to edges. An interesting addition to the back cover is a blind embossed retailer's stamp which covers the complete inner face and reads "Schofields Ltd. Victoria Arcade Telephone 20502 LEEDS" (see image below - phone nr to be confirmed as not clear). Pages good with light usage and occasional light annotations to the score. Binding quite tight.
