Condition/Notes : No DJ. Good. Front brown linen board is plain with wear to edges and bumps to corners. Some marking to face and small splash of paint top lh edge. Back board is similar with wear through to board bottom lh corner and light stains to face. Spine has wear to top and tail with cream print and creasing. Front paste-down and e/p have map of Mexico. £9.50 written in pencil handscript top rh corner. pp with title and browning; verso list of works by Aldous Huxley. Frontispiece follows with sepia photo of Copan Stela; foxing to border photo not affected. Title follows with details; verso printing details with foxing spots. Contents follow pv - pvi. Then Illustrations pvii - pviii listing total of 30 illustrations (sepia photos) facing page nrs. Page 1. follows. The pages are good with some usage marks and toning to edges. Photos all good. Index p316-p319. Same black and white map on back e/p's with Stanford, London, lower rh corner. Top edge inked dark brown, fore-edge dusted and browned, bottom edge uncut. Binding quite tight with exception of p16/p17 (section B) where there is strain and 2mm gap, but fully intact. Overall, a very interesting volume with excellent photos.

A very interesting photographic collection. No page numbers. 2nd Edition published Mexico D.F. 1946. First Edition published 1933 was sold out and the National Institute of Anthropology and History decided to publish this updated edition.

Descriptions in English and Spanish.

Condition is good except that light board cover is detached from bind 200mm down from the top edge but this does not affect the overall appearance. Otherwise the binding is tight except for strain between plates 12/13 and plates 14/15.

Photos are all clean and undamaged.
