A Bend in the River Wye, Bourne-End on Thames, watercolour and gouache on paper, signed A.R. Williams, titled verso. Original frame. c1900.

Condition/Notes : Quite good. The watercolour and gouache on paper study of the bend in the river is in good condition with quite good colour; there is a slight degree of toning to the colour but there is dense growth in the location which is restricting the light and hence moderating the intensity which has been captured by the artist. This section of the River Wye appears to be near the River Thames in the last bend before the confluence and will be easily recognized by people familiar with the area. The painting is signed in the lower lh corner AR Williams.

Displayed within a gilt mount which is in good condition.

The original gilt wooden frame is in good sturdy condition with light rubbing to the face. Acid board backing secured by period headless nails and sealed with original dark brown dust-sheet which has been previously detached to the edges; some losses to the upper edge. Old browned label attached to centre with faded ink handscript "A bend in the river" Bourne-End on Thames by A.R. Williams. Framer's label attached to mid-lower edge "Established 1860 W. Sullivan & Sons, Picture Frame Makers, Cardboard Mount Cutters, Washable Gilt Moulding Importers, 10, Lower Arcade, Bristol. Old Frames Re-Gilt. Pictures Cleaned and Restored. Artists' Materials."

Thick cord and old rings attached.

An interesting study by this known Welsh artist.

A Continental Garden Terrace, probably in Portugal, watercolour on paper, framed and glazed, signed M. Kitchener, c1930.

Madge Kitchener (Exh. 1921-29) Born Kasauli India, studied Slade School. Known for her portrait and Portuguese landscape paintings.

Dimensions : Frame : 376mm x 300mm x 15mm. Image : 227mm x 145mm.

Condition/Notes : The watercolour painting on textured art paper is in good condition with good colour. The original pencil drawing can be seen in many parts especially around the two pillars and there are some light discarded sketches on the central pathway but these are not noticeable in normal viewing.

The painting depicts a Continental style garden terrace with the distant vista beyond in an unknown location; probably Portugal. The painting is signed in the artist's usual manner in the lower rh corner. See the image below.

The painting is displayed beneath a sand coloured mount which is in good condition and complements the colours of the work. The ebonized wooden frame with gilt edges is in good condition and glazing clear. The back of the frame is covered with a sheet of hardboard secured by clear tape. There are remants of gummed tape in places and a small label which has been removed at some time. Rings and cord attached.

Overall, a very pleasant garden scene signed by a known 20th Century artist.

Watercolour on paper study of a winter scene off Broadway New York c1980.

The work is an impressionist study of a winter scene with pedestrians on the snowy street and sidewalks. The study is one of several New York city scenes in the artist's New York series created in the early 1980's. The colours are vibrant and the condition is good. The chill of the day is captured and the wind swept snow flakes are scattered across the scene against the gloomy skyscrapers and the menacing snow laden sky.

The painting is signed Michael Crawley in the lower lh corner in the artist's usual style.

Displayed within a stone coloured mount with toned window cut edges. The plain edged dark gilt wooden frame is in good sturdy condition with light scuffing in places. Hardboard backing board secured by nails and sealed with framing tape. Label attached to upper centre with title "Winter, off Broadway New York" inscribed in  pencil. Hanging cord attached to rings.

The painting is ready to hang.

The Tyne Bridge, Quayside Newcastle, watercolour on paper, signed Alan R. Cook. c1965. Alan Reid Cook, RSMA, PS, (1920-1974).

Imperial : Frame : 25-1/4" x 21" x 3/4". Image : 17-1/4" x 13-1/4".

Condition/Notes : Good. The study of the iconic Tyne Bridge is in good condition with good colour and no damage; there is one very small fragment of lint about 65mm above the chimney pot and 80mm to the rh side of the bridge top arch which can be brushed away if the frame is opened. The study captures the Tyne Bridge and Quayside c1965 when the inner port was still active prior to the later decline and redevelopment of the Quayside district. The Information Hall can be seen to the lh side which at that time accessed the lift to the bridge walkway; some other landmarks will be recognized by people familiar with the city. The painting is signed Alan R. Cook in the lower rh corner in the artist's usual style; since his death in 1974 his maritime works related to the Northeast have attracted a wide following. The quite large impressive work is displayed within an off-white lined mount which is likewise in good condition; there is a small piece of brown paper or lint in the centre of the upper mount near the window edge which again can be removed if the frame is opened. The original cream coloured speckled frame with gilt bead moulding to inner edge is in good sturdy condition with light scuffing to edges but with a 10mm chip to the lower rh corner. Wooden backing board secured by panel pins sealed with gummed Kraft. Framer's label attached to lower edge "Mawson, Swan & Morgan Ltd., Grey Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne" dated in handscript 1-2-66. Rings and cord attached.

An extremely attractive historical painting capturing the atmosphere of the mid-20th Century Newcastle docks.

All Saints Anglican Church, 29, Elizabeth Street, Parramatta, N.S.W. 2150, on a Rainy Day, impressionist watercolour study, signed Helen Goldsmith c1995. Original frame. Very good provenance.

The impressionist watercolour study of the well-known church in Parramatta on a rainy day is in very good condition with good colours and no damage or marking. The study is a particularly good representation of the effects of reflections in the rain water on the street's surface and how they interact with the actual structures that create them. The modern structures of nearby Sydney city centre can be seen in the hazy distance adding another dimension to this historical study and contrasting the two. The painting is signed Helen Goldsmith in black paint, in her usual style, in the lower lh quarter.

The painting is displayed within a white double mount board presentation which shows the work at its very best; the mount boards are similarly in very good condition. The contemporary subdued gilt wooden frame is in good condition with light scuffing in places. White heavy card backing-board is secured by points and sealed with framing tape. Very good provenance backed by three labels attached :

Royal Art Society of New South Wales No.1044, dated 21.4.1997, receipt for the sum of A$380.00 signed Hon. Secretary.

An English Landscape, watercolour on paper, signed Judith Currie. c1990. Framed. Landscape.

Watercolour on paper, signed. Dimensions : Frame : 396mm x 345mm x 11mm. Image : 275mm x 225mm. Weight : 1.000kg net. Condition : Very Good.

£150.00  Shipping : UK : Free Delivery. Europe : £25.00. World : £35.00.

CONDITION/NOTES : Very Good. The watercolour painting is in very good condition with no sign of foxing or moisture damage. The colours are vibrant and the technique is stylish conveying a sense of motion, probably painted on a windy day. The sky brings a depth to the scene. The painting is signed by the well known artist Judith Currie in pencil in the lower lh corner.

The painting is displayed under a complementary pale blue mount board and framed in a plain wooden frame with gilt inner edge. The frame is in good condition but with light marking around the edges. The glazing is clear and undamaged. The back of the frame is covered with a board held in place by clips and the edges sealed with 50mm framing tape. There is a label attached at top which states "Judith Currie Marchmorerl". The title is open to interpretation as the script is obscure but appears to be Marchmorerl or Marchmorell.

I have since been in contact with the artist and she has confirmed this painting as her own work and says she painted the picture c1990. She also confirmed that the painting was originally sold at a charity exhibition in the village of Bleasby near Southwell Nottinghamshire for the Anthony Nolan Trust. I have been unable to ascertain the significance of the above mentioned Marchmorerl name.

Overall, this is a very attractive and accomplished watercolour signed by the artist.

Anne Port, Jersey, watercolour on paper, attributed to Garman Morris. c1930. Framed and glazed.

Condition/Notes : Good. The watercolour on paper is in good condition with good colour and no damage. There is a small area of slight browning to the vegetation in the lower rh corner and another similar about 20mm above the latter which appears to be acid bleed from the adjacent mount board but it does not detract from the image and really blends into the general vegetation in that corner of the painting.

The study depicts the well known Anne Port Bay and is readily recognizable from any photographs of the region. Although unsigned, the painting has the characteristic tones and hues of Garman Morris and the scene and style is typical of his work.

The frame has been opened to check for any script or descriptions which revealed  the title Anne Port Jersey  written in pencil script on the mount below the painting (concealed by the display mount board); the framer's reference number 852 3/1 is also written verso. The painting has been secured to the mount board by two strips of framer's tape along the top and lower edge (see the images below). No other script found. The painting is displayed within the original beige coloured mount board which is in good condition with slight toning to the edges adjacent to the frame and toning to the window edges.

The gilt wooden frame with decorative beading to the inner edges and decorative crosses to the centre of each facing edge is in good condition with light wear to face and edges. The wooden backing board is secured by nails and sealed with gummed tape. Rings and cord attached. Boots Picture Framing & Art Department label is attached to the lower edge and partly covered by previously applied tape.

The painting is signed in brown paint, capital letters GC, in the lower rh corner.

Bouley Bay, Jersey, watercolour on paper, attributed to Garman Morris c1930. Framed and glazed.

Condition/Notes : Good/Very Good. The watercolour on paper study is in good condition with good colour and no damage or marking/foxing. The study depicts Bouley Bay on the north coast of Jersey. Interestingly, the work is titled Bonne Nuit Bay in pencil on the mount, currently sealed in the frame and not visible, but research into the two Bays certainly confirms this to be Bouley Bay. The Bays are very similar but certain landmarks make this identification certain. Previous owner's name and address written in pencil handscript verso with framer's reference number. The style of the painting and the characteristic tones and hues of the distant landscape and sea are typical of Garman Morris although it is fairly uncommon for his work to be unsigned. Unless proved otherwise, I am confident that this attribution is correct. The painting is displayed within a beige coloured mount which is in good condition with toning to the window edges. The original gilt wooden frame with inner edge beading and cross emblem to the centre of each side is in good condition with light wear to the edges. The wooden backing board is secured by nails and sealed with gummed tape; rings and cord attached. Boots Picture Framing & Art Department label attached to lower edge with lower half partly erased by previously removed framing tape; reference number 8523/6 in pencil to label.

British Battleship at moorings off South Coast, probably Portsmouth, with yachts, watercolour on paper, signed lower rh corner W.M. Birchall. c1917. Oak frame.

Condition/Notes : Good. Watercolour study of an unknown British battleship at moorings off the South Coast, probably Portsmouth, on a choppy sea with yachts sailing nearby. Typical colours of the artist and signed in his usual manner in the lower rh corner. The identity of the ship or title of the study could be concealed below the mount as the artist usually included a description above or below his signature. Further research may identify the battleship. The painting is in good condition with good colours and just a few light foxing marks.

Displayed within a complementary dark brown mount which is in good condition. Glazed oak frame which is in good condition, light scuffing in places; wooden backing board secured by nails and sealed with gummed framing tape. No labels. Screw-eyes and twine attached.

An interesting study by this well-known maritime artist.

Brixham Harbour, watercolour on paper, signed J. Shapland. c1890. Framed and glazed.

British 1865-1929.

Condition/Notes : Good. The watercolour study of Brixham Harbour c1890 is in very good condition with good colour and no damage or marking. The painting depicts the old entrance to the harbour with several fishing boats at moorings. The artist's signature is in the lower lh corner in his usual manner. The painting is displayed within a white ingres mount with standard white core which has light toning.

The brown frame with gilt spacer is in good condition but with small chips and scuffing in places and there is some light marking to the inside of the glass in places which can be cleaned on opening the frame. The internal spacer gives a very good separation between the painting and the glass and this has been a significant factor in maintaining the very good condition of the painting. The frame is closed with a brown backing board and well sealed with gummed framing tape. Screw-eyes and cord attached. The title and artist is written in handscript along the top edge.

Overall, a very good study of Brixham Harbour which is of historical interest and typical of the style of this well known artist.

The Plein Air watercolour study of the Bulk Cargo Terminal at the Port of Immingham, Lincolnshire, signed Keys (Leslie Keys) 2001, is in very good condition with good colours and no damage or marking.

The painting depicts the Bulk Terminal with three ships working cargo alongside the jetty. The study emphasizes the isolation of the terminal necessitated by the depth of water required to accommodate modern bulk carriers and the nature of such handling operations. The typical Lincolnshire open sky is reflected in the cold waters of the North Sea. A stark featureless image but one that will be recognised by people familiar with the location.

The painting is signed and dated Keys 2001 in pencil in the lower lh corner and similarly titled Immingham in the lower rh corner.

Displayed directly beneath the glazing in a sleek wooden frame which is in good condition. Backing board secured by pins and sealed with gummed framing tape. Hanging cord attached to screw-eyes. No visible script.

Leslie Keys (1936-2005), born Barnsley Yorkshire, graphic artist, taught at Barnsley College of Art, worked as art director in a New York advertising firm, then lived in Louth for over 30 years until his death and is known for his maritime and Lincolnshire themed paintings. This painting is one of a series of studies titled "Harbours Near and Far" and was exhibited under "Harbours of the World" at Louth Museum. Cairo Street Scene, watercolour on paper, signed T. Baldasar, c1900. Framed and glazed.

Condition/Notes : The watercolour painting on textured art paper is in good condition with quite good colour. There is a light surface crease to the paper base 20mm long from the lower edge at 54mm in from the lower rh corner which can be seen in the image below. This is not particularly noticeable in normal viewing. The painting depicts a Cairo street scene with figures outside a mosque. This painting can be linked to several other similar studies of Cairo scenes which have appeared on the market over recent years (A set of four Cairo street scenes, watercolour over pencil, signed T. Baldasar, Bonhams New Bond Street, 17 Dec 2008, estimated £1000 - 1500). There is Arabic script on the rh building and over the doorway across the street. The painting appears to have been pasted to a gilt mount  which was a typical method of presentation in the early 20th Century. The artist's signature, in his usual manner, is in the lower lh corner. The painting is framed and glazed. The gilt wooden frame is in good sturdy condition with light wear. The back of the frame appears to be undisturbed with a cardboard backing board secured by rusty panel pins and covered with black backing paper pasted to the board. Screw-eyes, rings and string attached. No visible script. Overall, the painting is an interesting work which will benefit from reframing with a conservation mount (or just adding a conservation mount to the existing frame and resealing).

Cargo/passenger ship ss Venetian (Ellerman Line) working at moorings Palermo Harbour, Sicily, watercolour and gouache on paper, double signed Ellis Silas. c1950.

Condition/Notes : Good/very good. The watercolour and gouache study of a cargo/passenger ship working at moorings in Palermo Harbour is in very good condition with very good colour and no damage; there is what could be a small water-mark in the sky above the rh cliff edge or possibly another representation of smoke from the funnels. The study is a magnificent depiction of the working cargo ship with attendant barges and boats set against the iconic skyline of Palermo Harbour as viewed from the sea. Other ships can be seen in this busy harbour study and the vibrant colours hold the viewer spell-bound by the beauty of a typical maritime operation performed daily without any appreciation by the participants of the artistic impact of the setting. This well-known respected war-artist was particularly adept at capturing this type of scene in addition to his WWI historical military studies.

The painting is signed in dark brown paint in the lower rh corner and then oversigned again in white gouache in his usual manner.

The painting is displayed beneath a cream coloured mount with a gilt inner mount producing a gilt inner border; both mounts are in good condition.

The card support has been attached with tape at edges to the back of the inner gilt mount (see the images below). Pencil script to support verso "Ellis Silas F.R.S.A. R.G.S. T No 1 £6.6 palermo" probably in artist's handscript (same handscript seen on other works by this artist). Very faint other script to upper lh corner of support which looks like Palermo.

The contemporary antique style frame is in good condition with light scuffing to edges in places. Hardboard backing board secured with points and sealed with gummed tape.  Hanging wire attached.

Cargo Steam/Sailing ship berthing Fresh Wharf on River Thames signed Michael Crawley, titled verso. c1960.

Condition/Notes : Good/Very good. The watercolour on paper is in very good condition with good colour and no damage or marking.

The study is one of many in the series of Pool of London scenes depicting London Docks in the 1960-80's. The Fresh Wharf was closed down in 1970 and so this painting can be quite accurately dated as the artist very rarely dated his work.

The scene is typical of this series and captures the working life of the port.

Displayed within a charcoal coloured mount which is in good condition.

Plain faded gilt wooden frame with light scuffing to edges; hardboard backing board sealed with gummed tape. Small label attached top lh corner "Thames Shipping of Fresh Wharfe" in the artist's pencil handscript. Remnants of another label centre lower edge - no visible script.

Hanging wire attached to metal rings.

An interesting study in the series. May be significance to the cargo ship berthing which will be added if anything found in research.

Please view the images. May be reflections in glazing.

Condition/Notes : Good.

1. Boats in the Grand Harbour. The watercolour on paper study is in good condition with good colour and no damage or marking. The study depicts two boats at moorings in the harbour with a lower sandy sky changing to a slightly clouded blue sky  above the buildings. The painting is signed C. Galea Malta in the lower rh corner. The study is executed directly to the customized cream coloured card base which has an embossed rectangular surround to the image - a technique used by the artist throughout his life. The card base is displayed directly beneath the glazing within the plain recessed pine frame; secured verso by panel pins. Remnants of the dust-sheet remain on the frame edges but this has been removed at some time.

2. Grand Harbour from the Customs House. The watercolour study is in good condition with good colour but there are a couple of very small foxing spots in the sky. The view of the Grand Harbour from outside the Customs House is a popular study and has been replicated with variations by this artist but always retains its charm. The painting is signed C. Galea Malta in the lower rh corner again in the c1950 style. The title Grand Harbour - Malta is written in pencil in the artist's hand  on the lower lh border of the card base. The customized card base is in good condition but with some very light small foxing spots in places. The matching plain pine frame is in good condition; panel pins securing the base verso. Dust-sheet has been removed.

3. Grand Harbour - Malta. The watercolour study of the Grand Harbour with three boats is in good condition with good colour and no damage or marking. The scene is similar to number 1 above but viewed from the centre of the harbour nearer to the shore. The sandy sky has several dark clouds with a blue topping. The painting is signed C. Galea Malta in the lower rh corner in the same manner. The title Grand Harbour - Malta is written in pencil handscript in the artist's easily recognised hand in the lower lh border. Same matching frame with panel pins securing base and remants of a dust-sheet.

4. Mdina Cathedral - Malta.  The watercolour study of Mdina Cathedral is in good condition with good colour and no damage; there is a very small foxing spot to the rh side of the rh tower. This unusual study of Mdina viewed from a different location than other similar studies presents an interesting image of the famous structure and emphasizes the height of the buildings above the surrounding land. The painting is signed C. Galea Malta in the lower rh corner and the title Mdina Cathedral - Malta is written in pencil handscript in the lower lh card border, again in the artist's hand. Matching frame in good condition with panel pins securing the card; dust-sheet previously removed.

Overall, a very good period set of Maltese views in matching frames signed C. Galea Malta c1950. These paintings have been confirmed as the work of Carmelo Galea by Pierre Galea and his father Edwin - with thanks.

Cattle grazing in lakeside scene, watercolour on paper, signed H. Earp Senr. c1880. Framed and glazed.

Condition/Notes : Fair/Quite good. The watercolour on paper study of a lakeside scene with grazing and resting cattle is in fair condition with overall colour fading, some light browning and some foxing in places. There are two vertical light bands of browning in the sky to the right of centre and to the right of the large tree. These are more pronounced in the images than in the actual painting and when viewed, depending on the angle of light, do not detract from the image or distract the attention of the viewer. In a wall hanging situation they are not particularly noticeable. The white gouache highlights on the cattle and the lake focus the attention of the viewer and this is the primary interest in this study. The scene is typical of the work of  Henry Earp and is located in the Scottish Highlands which were a favourite study of this artist. The painting is signed in the lower rh corner in the artist's usual manner of H. Earp Senr. The painting is displayed within the original quadruple, lined, mount set-up which is in good structural condition but with toning and foxing. The recessed, gilt, red lined frame is in good sturdy condition with light wear to edges and some small chips to corners. Wooden backing board is sealed with sheet of kraft paper. Screw-eyes and cord attached. A good example of the work of this well-known prolific artist.

A monochromatic 19thC British/English watercolour study of cattle resting in a ruined abbey. The painting is in good condition with no marking or damage.

There is a faded, indistinct signature to the rh side of the two stones to the foreground of the seated cow. Further research is required here and any findings will be added.

A glimpse of the outer grounds can be seen through the archway and appears to be a walled area with a bar gate and distant trees.

The painting is displayed within a pale green mount which is in good condition. The heavy plain wooden frame is in good solid condition and sealed with hardboard backing board and tape. Hanging wire attached to metal lugs. Framer's label attached to lower centre edge "Off the Wall Cheltenham etc".

An interesting study which will benefit from further research.

Chertsey Bridge, Dockett Eddie, Shepperton, signed Frederick J. Townsend, pencil drawing and watercolour. c1870. Framed and glazed.

Pencil drawing and watercolour, originally entitled "On the Thames, Dockett Eddie, Shepperton". Dimensions : Frame : 526mm x 433mm x 20mm. Image : 350mm x 205mm. Weight : 1.900kg net. Condition : Good.

"Chertsey Bridge - at Sunset", or as previously titled "On the Thames, Dockett Eddie, Shepperton", signed Frederick J. Townsend, drawing and watercolour on paper. c1870. Framed and glazed.

Condition/Notes : Good. The pencil drawing and watercolour study of Chertsey Bridge, Dockett Eddie, is in good condition. There is no sign of foxing or damage. The original pencil drawing can be seen in places and the predominantly pale greenish hued watercoloured areas are subdued as appropriate to the title Chertsey Bridge - "at Sunset". The painting depicts a ferry boat taking two passengers on the river at Chertsey Bridge and this famous bridge can be seen today in this extremely desirable location. The painting is signed by the known 19th Century artist Frederick John Townsend in the lower rh corner. Frederick J. Townsend flourished from 1861 to 1872 and exhibited at the Royal Academy from an address in Chertsey Surrey which confirms his identity and the date for this painting. Another interesting aspect of this painting is that it is entitled "Chertsey Bridge - at Sunset" verso (on what appears to be a cut-out section of the original backing sheet pasted to the backing board) and the title "On the Thames Dockett Eddie Shepperton" is written on the backing board in faint pencil handscript. It seems that the area around Chertsey Bridge was previously known as Dog Ait (1883 - 1896) which became corrupted to Dockett and this area is now known as Pharaoh's Island and there is still a Dockett Eddie Lane about 1500m from the bridge. This is an extremely interesting historical area which relates to this painting and the artist in many ways. The painting is displayed within a pale off-white multi-lined mount which is also in good condition. The gilt tinted wooden frame is in good condition with light wear. The back of the frame is covered with an old wooden backing board secured by panel pins and sealed with 50mm gummed framing tape. "Frederick John Townsend "Chertsey Bridge at Sunset" c1870" is written in handscript at the top rh edge. Below is a framer's label "William James Spiller Picture Frame Maker etc.... 28, Litchfield Street, Charing Cross Road, London, W.C.2. (Near the Palace Theatre). Below this, in centre, is the aforementioned pencil handscript with alternative title "On the Thames" Dockett Eddie, Shepperton. Below this is the cut-out section (probably an original backing sheet) with title in pencil handscript Chertsey Bridge - at Sunset by Fredk. J. Townsend. Screw-eyes and string attached. Overall, a very interesting and historical painting signed by a known artist.

Cholon, China Town, Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, watercolour on paper street scene, titled, dated and signed. Original oak frame.

The watercolour Impressionist street study in Cholon Saigon is in quite good condition with good colour; there are a few light foxing spots in places. The study depicts a street in the well-known market district of Saigon at the turn of the century (1906). The painting is signed J Anger and titled Cholon - 06 in faded black ink in the lower lh corner, partly concealed by the edge of the frame.

The painting is displayed directly below the glazing of the stained oak veneered frame, which is in good sturdy condition with scuffing and losses in places. Thick wooden backing board secured by nails and sealed with gummed framing tape. Original dark grey framing tape below the latter more recent tape with the full name of the artist Jacques Anger written in faded black ink.

An interesting historical painting by this known French 19th/20thC French artist.

Christmas Pass, Rhodesia, watercolour on paper, signed L. Coape-Arnold. Framed and glazed.

Condition/Notes : Overall, the painting is in good condition. The colours are vibrant with the blossom of the trees. There is no sign of foxing on the body of the painting but there is some light toning around the edges which has probably been caused by the proximity of the acid mount window edges which are quite browned. The scene depicts the famous Christmas Pass near to Mutare with the old road leading into the well recognised hills in the distance. The artist's signature is printed in the lower lh quarter. The painting is displayed within an aging grey acid mount but which complements the style of the painting and  frame. A gilt inner surround also adds to the presentation of the painting. The carved wooden frame is sturdy and in good condition with some light scratching in places. The back of the frame is closed with a knotted wooden board fixed to the gilt surround and sealed with gummed framing tape. On the lower tape is written in handscript "Re Framed Christmas Pass Rhod" indicating that the original frame has been replaced and that the painting originates from the pre-independence days estimated to be c1960. A very interesting study which captures the essence of the famous road and the beauty of the landscape. Please view the images below : (Please appreciate that due to the distance between frame glazing and actual watercolour it is difficult to get an accurate and reflection-free photograph and so several very similar views are displayed in an attempt to give a true image.
