Gravure print of watercolour study titled London Bridge Co from Southwark Bridge by Gideon Yates c1832. River Thames, London, England.

The watercolour is a variation of several very similar works by Gideon Yates around 1832 following the opening of the New London Bridge in 1831 by the Grand Old Duke of York. The bridge was built by John Rennie and his son but was subsequently sold to American oil tycoon Robert P. McCulloch in 1968 and moved to Arizona.

The gravure colour print, c1960, is in good condition with good colour and no damage. There are two small very light surface creases to support, one above the smoking stacks on rh side and one below the second beached boat on rh side and two in the lower margin.

The print on off-white support is displayed directly below the glazing of the plain gilt wooden frame which is in good sturdy condition with light scuffing. Cardboard backing board secured by nails and sealed with gummed framing tape which has been torn along the upper edge. No visible script. Hanging cord attached to screw-eyes.

An interesting historical print.
